LoveScopes was indeed a labor of love to write. When I was approved to write a book for Hay House it was the first book that wouldn't expire in a year (like Mark's Power Peek 2007 and 2008) so I wanted to write something people would want to keep referring to. Having spent years as a bookstore owner I remember the gift and the curse of people coming to the shop to sit for hours reading one type of book - books on love.
Although I don't endorse using LoveScopes as a way to say "Yes" or "No" to a particular person, I do believe that people are going to do that anyway. So secretly, as you look up the sign of someone you know, you are going to learn something about them which is going to give you a dash of tolerance, but more than that, you are going to be reading and learning about yourself, giving you a dash of self acceptance. In either case, you will grow and THAT is worth the time it took.
You are so much more than what this book could ever say about you but if you take the small pieces here and use them to be more compassionate with yourself; life's tough moments will seem to move faster and it's wonderful moments may just seem to linger.

About the Author
Mark S. Husson is a man with a lifelong interest in the inner workings of the mind. Mark received his undergraduate degree in psychology and went on to receive his master's in counseling from West Virginia University.It wasn't until a copy of Linda Goodman's bookLove Signsfell into his hands in 1979 that it was clear that astrology had the potential to be the fastest and most definitive map to the psyche. That map became the focus of Mark's career, when in 1982 he moved to Denver to meet Jungian astrologer John Joseph. The two opened Denver's premier astrological store, The Twelfth House, in 1989.The Twelfth House developed a reputation not only for its psychological approach to astrology, but also for its promotion of the ideal that spirituality is something that is guaranteed regardless of your beliefs about it - but being happy isn't. Thus, the slogan """"Inspiring the Human Adventure"""" became the store's trademark and a mantra that Mark believes is an integral part of being a good astrologer.Mark developed a training program for psychic readers, teaching them tools for dealing with people and respecting their roles, making the Twelfth House readers among the most trusted in the world.

Great read and reference

Thanks for a great book! This book is delightful - when I first got my hands on it - after much anticipation - I flipped it open and read the first thing I saw and was thrilled. Mark has a real gift for translating the symbols of astrology into meaningful information. Even if you are not interested in astrology, you will be blown away by the accuracy of his descriptions. The book is warm, humorous, informative and a must have for anyone who wants to understand themselves and other people better. And I especially love that it is written in a down to earth style - not lingo - that anyone can understand and enjoy. This is the kind of book people will want to borrow, better buy an extra and stock up for gifts.

You're going to LOVE Mark Husson scoping out Love

Anyone who's acquainted with Mark Husson's Power Peek Hour show on HayHouse radio already knows he's an astrologer with amazing credentials. His cover both those academic type people always note,and even more importantly for dealing with the esoteric levels of science, personal study and questing to gain insight and, yes, wisdom. Mark's insights are amazing. Once he explains how something works (and he does this absolutely painlessly), I find more and more details make sense. This is after decades of struggling to get a better handle on how to 'read' a chart and its transits. Yet, at an age way beyond looking for romance, I doubted a book about love relationships would be of much interest or aid in my daily life, even when written by Mark Husson. Ha! Once again Mark showed the stretch of application for his description of how we signs mix. Frankly, for years I thought as a shy (or so I thought),sensitive, yes, Cancer I stayed away from trying to take the lead. Then realized as a cardinal sign I used my water/emotive energy to get attention. Not just in 'love' relations but anytime coming up against some of my 'fixed' or 'mutable' brothers and sisters :-). Now I know why when I'm feeling strongly these other often quietly backed out of the room, unable to put a name to what was going on but wanting distance between us :-). Lesson well learned. And if you want an expanded view of what it means to relate lovingly, this is your book! For it's not just about romance, but how to sensitize ourselves to difference with others so the love can flow even better Bravo Mark! NOW please do another one!

generic and sparse

I have read and own many better Astrology books and I was very disappointed by this one. My mother is an astrologist, so I understand the fact that this is a pretty poor excuse for a book. Like i said above, this book is generic and sparse, and looks at each sign in a very bland way and doesn't go into specifics. Then it takes those bland zodiacs and how they would work in a relationship. Good for the person who knows nothing about Astrology, but i could find better resources than this on a zodiac website.
